AUGUST 2010
SPORT SPONSORSHIP
This might be the way forward when it comes to negotiating product endorsements.
THE RUN
Racing a Tiger? Jumping over lakes? Running through mountains? Saving a baby Deer? Could it have been the shoes? As today was all about an extremely light, super-duper limited edition pair of runners I am going to put the house on this one and say.. "perhaps".
THE JUMP
After a week of strutting about for the high fashion world in the GQ editorials, it was back to our beloved world of sportswear for a 10hr non-stop running, jumping and stretching bonanza. As shots of Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Allen Iverson and Dwayne Wade in full flight, in full momentum, in the heat of battle and, most importantly, on a basketball court were passed our way it was time to get down to business. When a client requests you replicate their mid-air moves, gravity defying turns and back-breaking dunks whilst not actually running and staying in the photographer's frame all day long.. it's safe to assume their understanding of an athlete, or sports in general, is limited to the back pages of a newspaper. What a grind! Fortunately this old boy had a few tricks up the sleeve, not to mention a sack of electrolytes, ensure the goods were delivered.
